Norway Artway

Organizers of two important international festivals 4+4 Days in Motion (CZ) and METEOR (NO) decided to create a joint project (a sub-festival) from the field of professional theatre called Norway Artway, which is going to be presented in the programme of both festivals in 2015. It is a showcase of Czech professional theatre in Norway and Norwegian professional theatre in the Czech Republic. Both partners use twenty years of experience; activities of Four Days and BIT have paved the way for contemporary modern shape of performing arts and they have significantly changed perception of modern art in general. The success of international projects of both organizations spread the international fame in other European countries and allowed the artists and audiences to rediscover theatre and dance as a live organism of the 21st century.

Festivals organized by the project partners in Prague (4+4 days in Motion) and Bergen (Meteor) become platforms for presentation of Czech and Norwegian artists. The festivals are decisive and important factors for the possibilities of live art international mobility and help Czech and Norwegian art fight their way to the international art “market”. They often work as key impulses for future career advancement of artists, companies or projects. Festivals often present art development abroad to the audiences and media and offer the artists and theatre reviewers confrontation with current activities in the context. This is the reason why they are usually the first entrance of Czech and Norwegian “emerging” artists to international stages.

Clouds

The other work where the Handa Gote company deals with “small history” focuses on their own private archives. Veronika Švábová examines the history of her family and searches for important moments and seeming trivialities that have preserved in the memories of family members until nowadays and create the nature of a family community. Clouds are a subjective study of one’s own family presented in the series of images without a causal connection in the way the fragments of past events live in our memory.
